Many want to know our timeline for Amelia's adoption so here is what we have gone through so far -
- November 2012 - IBESR is closed to accepting adoption dossiers
- November 1-9, 2012 - Christy met baby girl "Anne Christelle" on her trip to the orphanage
- November 11, 2012 - We pray and decide to start our adoption process
- November 30, 2012 - CCAI accepts our Adoption Application
- December 6, 2012 - CCAI allows us to start our dossier process
- December 20, 2012 - We turn in our dossier to CCAI for critical review (still waiting on a complete home study)
- February 2013 - IBESR opens to accepting new dossiers BUT sets strict quotas
- February 20-25, 2013 - Tracy's first visit after deciding to adopt Amelia
- March 6, 2013 - Our dossier is sent on to translation
- April 10, 2013 - Having been back from translation for a week, we are told by CCAI that they are holding off legalization due to the new quota system and how far back we are in line…
- September 10, 2013 - Christy picks Chris up and says goodbye for a while to Amelia
- December 19, 2013 - Our dossier has been submitted into IBESR. We have the receipt in hand!
- November 17 , 2014 - Received notice that our family dossier has been approved
- October 24-30, 2016 - Ellie meets Amelia for the 1st time; We celebrate her 4th birthday
- April 1-7, 2017 - Christy visits Amelia
- May 3, 2017 - We switch agencies in hopes of speeding up the adoption process
- October 27 - November 3, 2017 - Ellie, Kasia and Christy visit Amelia; We celebrate her 5th birthday
- July 23, 2018 - We received our referral!!! Amelia's dossier has been matched with our family dossier.
- August 4-18, 2018 - (Tentative) Tracy and Christy are in Haiti for the required bonding trip with Amelia
